Help your child with Maths!

We have been running fun and interactive Maths Workshops at school.
It is an opportunity for:

  • You to collect your child from their classroom to work with you.
  • To learn how Maths is taught in their class.
  • To take away ideas to help your child in Maths.
  • To ask any questions and join in the fun activities that we have planned.

We will be sending letters home to inform you of the dates.
Hope to see you in these sessions!

Mrs Lee-Spencer & Mrs Shehzad (Urdu Bilingual Teacher)

Our new Family Numeracy class started on Monday 26th April, 1.15 – 3.15 in the library.
It will run for 10 weeks leading to a certificate, and will cover the ways children learn Maths in school, and ways that parents can help at home. Parents will be able to brush up on their own Maths skills too!
To find out more, speak to Ms Loth (at the Year 1 doors).

We are finishing the year with lots of special sports and Arts activities.

Please come and join us!

We went to visit the museum on Wenesday last week with our children. We had a look round everywhere – including the Egyptian Gallery, lots of animals and the dinosaurs. Then we had a picnic lunch upstairs. We also took lots of photos and did some drawing.

We are running the Share group for five sessions starting 10th June, on Tuesday afternoons, 2.30 – 3.30, in the school library. All parents, carers, uncles. aunts, grandparents, bigsisters etc welcome! We are happy to have pre-school children too.

This time we are looking at Maths – how children learn in school and how you can help at home. Do come and ask your questions, and we’ll do our best to answer them.

Mrs Shehzad, Mrs Lee-Spencer and Ms Loth

We went to Longsight Library. We had a storytime session, with the story

‘We’re going on a bear hunt’. We loved the pop-up pictures!

Then we all joined the library and chose books to take home for our other children.

You can see a slideshow of our visit below:

Check out the library website – for opening times, and activities. There is much more than books – though there are lots of those too! Tuesday 27 May 11-12 there is a Bollywood dance session, free for anyone over 5 years. The other libraries have special half-term activities too.

The family language class are learning more letters and making words with them.

Here are some of the words.

The family language class went last week and had a great time.

They listened to lots of strange things!

Every week parents spend part of the morning with Kate, the tutor, working on English. Then the children join them with Mrs Khan and they do activities together. The children are really proud that their parents are coming to school to learn too! Here they are with some of the homework they have done:50percentdsc06988.JPG
