We went to visit the museum on Wenesday last week with our children. We had a look round everywhere - including the Egyptian Gallery, lots of animals and the dinosaurs. Then we had a picnic lunch upstairs. We also took lots of photos and did some drawing.

We are running the Share group for five sessions starting 10th June, on Tuesday afternoons, 2.30 - 3.30, in the school library. All parents, carers, uncles. aunts, grandparents, bigsisters etc welcome! We are happy to have pre-school children too.
This time we are looking at Maths - how children learn in school and how you can help at home. Do come and ask your questions, and we’ll do our best to answer them.
Mrs Shehzad, Mrs Lee-Spencer and Ms Loth

We went to Longsight Library. We had a storytime session, with the story
‘We’re going on a bear hunt’. We loved the pop-up pictures!
Then we all joined the library and chose books to take home for our other children.
You can see a slideshow of our visit below:
Check out the library website - for opening times, and activities. There is much more than books - though there are lots of those too! Tuesday 27 May 11-12 there is a Bollywood dance session, free for anyone over 5 years. The other libraries have special half-term activities too.

Every week parents spend part of the morning with Kate, the tutor, working on English. Then the children join them with Mrs Khan and they do activities together. The children are really proud that their parents are coming to school to learn too! Here they are with some of the homework they have done:

We currently have two classes running:
Family language class: Wednesdays 9.15 - 11.45 in the library. This is for parents who need to learn English, and also learn how to help their children with their letters and sounds, so the children join the parents for part of the session. The tutor is Kate Spickett from Family Learning.
Parent Survival course (Webster-Stratton) Fridays 9.15 - 10.30 in the drama room. How to bring out the best in your children. Course led by Ms Loth and Mrs Casson.
Both these classes are full, but do let us know what else you would like to have.
